We are happy to welcome our Benedictine brothers from different monasteries across the country! This year, Mount Angel Abbey is the host monastery of the annual Junior Summer School program for temporarily professed Benedictine monks. They are going to be with us from June 12 to June 25, joining us for prayer, work, study and recreation.

The primary aim of the Junior summer program is to provide monks-in-formation additional educational experiences and to meet fellow junior monks from other monasteries and participate in the life of another Benedictine community. We are very pleased to have the presence of our Benedictine brothers in our Abbey:

Br. Timothy McMillan, OSB (St. Benedict’s Abbey, Atchison, KS)

Br. Luke Turner, OSB (St. Benedict’s Abbey, Atchison, KS)

Br. Albrecht Nyce, OSB (Glastonbury Abbey, Hingham, MA)

Br. Peduru Fonseka, OSB (St. Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN)

Br. David Freeman, OSB (St. Bede Abbey,Peru, IL)

Br. Bede Clark, OSB (Prince of Peace Abbey Oceanside, CA)

Br. Rafael Quesada, OSB (St. Vincent’s Archabbey Latrobe, PA)

Br. Miguel Gonzalez, OSB (St. Vincent’s Archabbey Latrobe, PA)

Our guest monks, together with the Abbey’s Junior monks will take series of classes on Liturgy and Scripture. The instructors for the Liturgy classes include the monks of Mount Angel Abbey and Fr. Dale Lauderville, OSB of Saint John’s Abbey, an Old Testament Scripture Scholar, will provide lectures on Scriptures.

On the lighter side, the junior monks are set to visit the Benedictine sisters at Queen of Angel's Monastery, Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey and the Brigittine's Priory of Our Lady Consolation. They will also visit Mt. Hood, the Oregon coast and the Abbey Milk Ranch.

Please welcome our brothers and pray for their vocation as they continue their journey to the monastic life.
